


The LG Welfare Foundation conducted social volunteer services in Vietnam, improving school environments for physically disabled people and providing occupational education for them. These community services provided in Vietnam, over the course of three years, are aimed to enhance services for physically disabled children.
LG Innotek's Indonesian subsidiary is performing social volunteer services based on the understanding of local culture. Typically, during Idul Adha, an Islamic holiday, the subsidiary delivers goats to its neighboring residents every year. The company also offers scholarships to local pre-graduate high school students recommended by the principal.
Since 2000, LG Electronics has been sponsoring LA VILLA DE LAS NINAS (House for Young Boys) in Mexico. This facility is run by the Maria Catholic Sisters Society and provides free-of-charge education for the children of local underprivileged residents.

LG Electronics provides free-of-charge surgery in various parts of the world. In Kenya and Morocco, the company offered free operations for 60 underprivileged children suffering from cleft pallet abnormalities. This philanthropic act inspired hope into the children. Local media praised and thanked LG Electronics, the "hands of angels" from the Far East. LG Electronics also practices corporate philanthropy in other parts of the world.

LG sponsors various cultural programs as part of its global corporate social activities. Since 1970, the LG Yonam Foundation has been sponsoring the Yenching Library, annexed to Harvard University. This program provides support for professors and students of Harvard University in their Korean language and culture studies. The LG Yonam Foundation donates money every year to the Yenching Library to buy books.
